SEO Tools to Improve Your Search Strategy
Are you having trouble getting started with SEO for your business?
At its core, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of getting targeted traffic to a website from a search engine’s organic rankings. But before you start creating content, building backlinks, and going down the rabbit hole toward unlimited organic traffic, it’s important to understand all of the factors and prioritize where you spend your time to generate the best results.
This is where tools can come in to help speed up this process and develop an easy-to-follow roadmap.
Here are my personal favorites.
Ahrefs
Ahrefs is a great all-in-one SEO toolset to help companies and brands audit and optimize their site, analyze competitors, research keywords, explore content, and track rankings for your target keywords.
Why I like it. It is one of the most exhaustive tools on the market. The results are accurate, recommendations are crisp, insights are deep, and the interface is graphical. What more could you ask for, right? But the drawback is that it is on the pricier ends to get the full benefit of the tools (…or, they have a 7-day for $7 trial to see if it would be worth the investment).
MOZ
Moz was an early software in the SEO space. It is also an all-in-one tool to help you audit sites, prioritize keywords, analyze competitors and generate a full list of links from all of your competitors.
Why I like it. Moz simplifies They have a 30-day trial which unlocks most of the features on the platform. Although the cost is manageable, the tools and analysis have changed very little since I first started using them.
SEMRush
SEMRush is one of the most complete online tools for SEO, Competitive Research, Online Advertising, and Content Development. It has a clean interface, lots of reporting features, and extended tools for Social, Local SEO, and SEM. Of all of the online tools, I feel SEMRush is aggressively adding features faster than any other tool in the space as it has evolved a lot over the years.
Why I like it. The SEO functionality is adequate and is a strong way to help you build keyword lists, track rankings, and audit backlinks. My personal favorite is that they offer competitive research for PPC and Online Advertising. This is a great way to quickly evaluate and keep track of what your competition is up to.
Ubersuggest
Ubersuggest is one of the most valuable tools for any entry-level marketer. Set up is simple, and it unleashes powerful information about website visitors and their behaviors. You will use this to analyze trends, determine which keywords are valuable, and set up conversion funnels. And, the best part is that this is a free tool for small businesses.
A tool to consider as you become a more sophisticated marketer is Google Tag Manager. This tool helps you track more actions on your website and make swifter decisions without needing to install code.

Conclusion
Digital tools play a significant role in increasing productivity, driving growth, and helping you deliver enterprise-level customer experiences on a bootstrapped budget.
Google and Deloitte conducted a study that determined that digitally advanced small businesses – defined as using website analytics, online marketing, cloud-based communication and other digital channels – experienced revenue growth that was nearly 4x as high as the previous year.
